Reader review

Nice new review from a reader on Amazon:

This book comprises the works of 19 of Russia's foremost writers, including Victor Pelevin, Vladimir Sorokin and more. As the title suggests, all the stories are about life: hope, love, pain ... One of the more heart-rendering stories is of a single mother coping with her physically impaired son. There is much sadness in this collection, but there is humor and joy too, and all presented in the rich Russian tradition. It's a great way to discover Russian writers of today. A gem, not to be missed!

In 2010: Will Write for Soup!

Attention Vermont authors: Our second book (working title: Will Write for Soup) will be a collection of short stories by Vermont authors, with all money devoted to Montpelier soup kitchens. We hope it will not only be a great fundraiser, but a way to introduce Vermonters (and the wider world) to Vermont writers, to get readers interested in picking up other works by the same author... If you have a story you would like to be considered for this volume (all works must be donated to the cause, there will be no honoraria or fees), please contact us with an email to: editors, then the circuitous at sign, then storiesforgood dot org.

Stories do not have to be on any particular subject or theme, and will be judged solely on their literary merit. Authors must be legal residents of Vermont. Stories should be 1000-10,000 words long and must be submitted by December 31, 2009.
